Fire Prevention Expo - October 3rd, 1965

Fire Prevention Expo 1965

The morning of October 3, 1965 dawned with the promise of being a beautiful day. Activities for the day started at approximately 8:30 AM and did not end until 7:00 PM. This included the time to setup and take down the displays.

Two new ideas were added to the program this year. Kentland Volunteer Fire Department was kind enough to bring a Snorkel and put on a demonstration. In addition, Arbutus demonstrated an automobile rescue. The victim was transported by helicopter.

As usually this year featured a parade which got under way at 1:00 PM sharp. The MC was Mr. Joseph M. McDonagh from the University of Maryland Fire Service Extension. Mr. McDonagh narrated the parade and the demonstrations.
