Lansdowne VFD Dumps the House for the Dwelling Fire

Saturday, March 12, 2011 22:22hrs Lansdowne turns out every piece of equipment for the report of a "Dwelling Fire", Box area 36-2 in the 3200 block of Tartarian Court. Engines 361 and 362 arrived with "Smoke Shwowing" from side alpha and quickly advanced to "Fire Showing" on the charlie side of the 2nd floor of a 2 story middle of the group row home. Crews stretched a 1 3/4 handline and went to work. This was done under the Command of Chief Brinkley and Asst. Chief Bowser whom made quick work of the fire.

This was the 2nd box of three total for the night, while units were in the process of taking up a 37 Box was struck for smoke in the area which was unfounded and expected to be from our job!

Should also be noted Firefighter Donny Riley (sseen in photo) was in the house for the weekend and caught his very first job with us and along for a ride-along to observe was his father who got to see how it is done by the "Westside Guns", CONGRATS!!

Wednesday, March 9, 2011  The Men and Women of Lansdowne VFD would like to extend a Congratulations to our Fire Chief and Brother Doug "Puppy" Brinkley for his recent Promotion to Captain of BWI Fire and Rescue Department!!!! Without a doubt this is a much deserved promotion and we are proud to say he is one of our own.

Traditionally the Lansdowne VFD has groomed many of its fireman to move on and succeed in pursuing Officer Ranks in Baltimore County Career Fire Department as well as surrounding Departments.
