"Help us build our House"
The Lansdowne VFD is committed to providing the very best service to our community, with that being said we have found we have outgrown our current building years ago. In 1997 we started a new venture into the EMS business and purchased our first ambulance. The reasoning behind this was our community had proven we handled 80% of our calls at the time which were medical related. Since then our ambulance has parked in a grage up on the hill and the members have to leave the firehouse to get the ambulance on the road. In addition to this, as years pass Fire Apparatus has become designed bigger for various reason and the clearance in our Engine house fro the Engines has proven to be a obstacle as well as maneuvering throughout our tight streets in Lansdowne.
The Lansdowne VFD several years ago obtained approxiamtely 5 acres on Hollinsferry Rd across from Ryerson Circle to build on but we are desperately in need of the funding to start this project. Our current building structuraly is falling down around us, and we are need of a new building!!
Since our announcement of this fundraising campaign we have hosted some fundraisers such as a Spring Dance, solicitated through our residential and commercial mailings with great support, but unfortunately a financial committment of this type exceeds our fundraising means within the Lansdowne Community. So we are currently exploring Coporate Sponsors to help us achieve this great task.

Our next fundraiser is our 1st Annual Golf Tournament being held September 21st 2010 at the Compass Pointe Golf Course in Pasadena, Md.
